Slalom, Manchester

A pair of Perspective folding glass wall systems and a four-panel Solo system combined to offer multiple space layouts.

Back in 2019, global business and technology consulting firm, Slalom, established it’s first presence in Manchester located at Bruntwood’s Bloc on Marble street – just next to the city’s Arndale Centre.

Fast-forward to 2023 and Slalom has created more than 120 jobs in the city region, developing a highly skilled team. Needing to expand their workspace, the firm opted to remain in the same building and now occupy 8,600 sq ft of space split across floors 13 and 15.

ADT Workspace was appointed to deliver the design and fit-out, enlisting the help of Creatif to provide a number of moving wall systems on the 15th floor that could provide reconfigurable space.

The 15th floor has been transformed to provide a primarily collaborative space for the Slalom team, in addition to it’s customers and partners. Visitors are welcomed into the office via a striking reception area boasting stunning panoramic views of the city centre.

The multifunctional meeting and events space features a total of three moving wall systems which allow for different layouts. Two identical Perspective folding glass systems – sporting on-brand manifestations – have been installed to create a partition when meeting rooms are required.

The large meeting space behind the glazed partitions can be split into two separate rooms thanks to a Solo acoustic moving wall system. Both smaller rooms remain accessible thanks to a pass door integrated on each of the two Perspective systems.

In addition to the acoustic seals and absorbent core, the Solo panels feature a fabric surface that further helps to stop the transfer of sound – in addition to providing a unique look.

The two central panels of the Solo system also offer extra writing space thanks to drywipe sections on both sides.

All three moving wall systems can be fully stacked away in just a couple of minutes, allowing for a fully open-plan space when needed.
