IOM3, London

A bespoke Solo moving wall for a truly one-of-a-kind presentation space.

The Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining (IOM3) is a prestigious institution with a history dating back to 1869. With IOM3’s status and clear link to Britain’s industrial heritage – and future – you could regard the Institute as having the weight of history on its shoulders. However, their new conferencing facilities in London’s Knowledge Quarter was a dramatic, interactive and breath-taking feat of contemporary design.

‘The Mine’, as it’s informally dubbed, is a conferencing venue like no other. Designed for use by IOM3’s members to network and hold internal team meetings, and to host external events and exhibitions as a revenue raiser, the space needed to be unique.

CSK created an awe-inspiring scheme that mimicked a subterranean environment that transported guests deep underground. And in need of a bespoke moving wall, CSK (now Niche Projects) approached Creatif for help.

We provided a specially commissioned Solo system that came with matt black tracks, extra wide panels with twin-point suspension, a full height pass door and a custom finish to match the mining aesthetic.
